Saint Poodle Renaissance Dog Candle

I am Colette, a poodle of fine pedigree, born in the year 1489 in the sunlit courtyards of Marseille. My lineage is noble, my posture perfect, and my curls… chaotic.

While others praised my elegance, they never saw the struggle beneath the halo of fluff. My mornings began not with meditation or poetry, but with knots—matts so fearsome they could snare quills and swallow ribbon. The local painter once tried to capture me in oils, but gave up after three hours tangled in my ears.

Brushes snapped. Combs wept. I endured rosemary rinses, goat milk masks, and even a monk who suggested I shave it all and “start anew.” Sacrilege!

Still, I held my head high (and slightly to the left, for balance). Beneath every strand was a scholar, a dreamer, a dog who believed that beauty lies not in the curl—but in the courage to wear it every day.
